It really helps us do original reporting like this. 🔍 Episode Overview: On August 16, 2025, at about 4:29 AM, Officer Frank Losurdo from the Hoboken Police sat in his parked patrol car outside the station on Hudson Street. He spotted a 2010 Ford Mustang speeding north on the one-way southbound road. He followed it and flipped on his emergency lights for a stop at 2nd and River Streets. The car pulled over near 200 River Street. The driver, 21-year-old Georgina Ayala, said she came from a friend's house in Hoboken. She blamed her GPS for the wrong-way drive. She also confessed to drinking wine that night. Officer Zackary Guido arrived to check for signs of drunk driving. Guido began with the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test. Next came the Walk and Turn. Georgina missed heel-to-toe steps and turned wrong. The last test was One Leg Stand. She didn't lift her foot right and counted off sequence. Her wild driving, the smell of booze, clear signs of impairment, and failed tests led to her arrest for DUI. Cops impounded the car for 12 hours under John's Law. Losurdo took her to the station for booking. There, they read her the standard rights for drivers. She agreed to a breath test. The Alcotest showed 0.16% blood alcohol—twice the 0.08% limit. Once paperwork ended, they released her to a sober friend after signing the liability warning for her.
