Police Report Summary: On April 26, 2024, at approximately 2149 hours, Deputy M. Dorsey conducted proactive patrol in the high-crime area of Kingswood Drive. While patrolling the Microtel parking lot, he observed a white Dodge Charger with its trunk open, windows down, and doors open. Four Black subjects and one white subject were loitering around the vehicle, with one wearing a “Sheisty” mask. Due to the potential for criminal activity and lack of backup, no contact was made at this time. At 2254 hours, Deputy Dorsey, accompanied by Deputy Harrison, reentered the parking lot to find the vehicle in the same condition. Two Black males, Joseph Jordan and Demarcus Powell, were standing by the vehicle. As Dorsey approached, he detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana. Joseph and Demarcus were asked to provide identification. Abaigale Lebanc, a white female previously observed, approached, supporting initial observations. Due to the marijuana odor and the high-crime area, a probable cause search was conducted. During the search, Heaven Fyre and Michael Wills arrived and interfered. Despite commands to stay back, they did not comply. Demarcus, initially compliant, attempted to flee but was apprehended after resisting physically. A firearm with an extended magazine was found in a backpack inside the vehicle. While securing Demarcus, Abaigale and Heaven continued to interfere. They were eventually secured along with Michael, who resisted commands. Joseph remained compliant throughout. The search yielded a Taurus 24/7 G2 .45 Cal Handgun, approximately 67 rounds of ammunition, and over 80 grams of marijuana. Demarcus admitted ownership of the backpack and its contents. He was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting with violence, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell. The other subjects were released. ✅ This video was obtained via Public Records Request. #bodycam #florida #code3
