An airport investigation began after a Lyft driver reported that a passenger stole his wallet and cash while he helped unload her luggage. About 20 minutes later, officers received another theft call involving the same woman and a $320 sweater from an airport store. Police said the driver’s payment cards had also been used or attempted at airport retailers, and officers recovered recently purchased merchandise, numerous cards and IDs belonging to other people, and controlled substances. She gave officers a false name and was arrested on theft, credit-card fraud, identity-information, false-name, and drug-related charges. Court records show she was later adjudicated guilty on petit theft, giving a false name, fraudulent use of a credit card, and one controlled-substance count; the remaining counts were not filed.
