On January 3, 2022, a sheriff’s deputy in Florida observed a Toyota Camry with Wisconsin plates traveling 55 MPH in a posted 35-MPH zone. After initiating a traffic stop, the deputy approached the driver and reportedly noticed the odor of alcohol on his breath. The driver later stated that he had consumed six drinks that night. What followed was a DUI investigation focused on the driver’s condition, the traffic violation, and the officer’s decision-making during the stop. This video is our edited breakdown of a real DUI investigation. Non-essential portions of the original footage were removed so the key moments, decisions, and outcome of the traffic stop could be presented more clearly.
