On December 6th, 2025, Trooper Blake Davis and I were at Troop D Headquarters when we received information that St. Francis County deputies were in pursuit of a gray Dodge Charger traveling northbound on State Highway 1, near our location. We promptly responded and proceeded northbound, catching up to the deputies already engaged in the pursuit. I became the primary pursuing unit on State Highway 1 south of State Highway 306, with speeds reaching in the triple-digits. I observed the suspect vehicle make a sudden left turn onto State Highway 306. I followed the vehicle and caught up to it near State Highway 193. The fleeing driver attempted to turn off the vehicle’s lights and applied heavy braking. I also applied my brakes in an effort to reduce the impact, but made contact with the rear of the fleeing vehicle, causing damage to the front bumper portion and hood area of my patrol unit. Seconds later, I accelerated to attempt a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI). The fleeing vehicle again applied heavy braking to avoid the maneuver but was forced into the northern (right-side) ditch. Both vehicles remained under control, and the pursuit continued westbound on State Highway 306. I attempted a second TVI with similar results. The suspect vehicle entered the northern ditch again and came to a final rest facing west. Trooper Davis and I exited our vehicles to conduct a felony stop. At that time, the passenger fled on foot. Trooper Davis pursued the passenger and apprehended him without incident. The passenger was identified as Cameron Wren and was taken into custody. The driver remained in the vehicle after the stop. Due to the dark window tint, I was unable to see inside the vehicle until I approached; dash camera footage shows no additional occupants fleeing. The driver was removed from the vehicle, placed under arrest without incident, and identified as Joseph Tripp. While taking the driver into custody, I detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the driver. Both individuals were transported to the St. Francis County Detention Center for booking. I attempted to conduct Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) and a BAC test on the driver; however, the driver was uncooperative and refused to perform the tests.
