Upon arrival, Officers were met by Marquis in the front yard of Darlene's home. The male immediately showed officers a text message from the woman, which included a picture of a small fire pit on fire, with his belongings inside. Marquis said he had left Darlene's house to go to his grandmothers house, to take care of his sick three year old. Marquis stated that he returned to Darlene's home to retrieve his pressure washer and pressure washer supplies and Darlene would not give them to him. After speaking with Marquis, officers went inside the home to speak with Darlene. She informed officers that her and Marquis have been on and off for years and they had most recently broken up in November. Darlene stated that she had invited him back over on the Friday prior to this date and he stayed with her. Darlene stated that Marquis had left for a while and was not answering her phone calls or texts. Darlene said that Marquis told her he was going to his grandmothers house, so Darlene drove to the grandmothers to check on Marquis. Darlene said upon speaking with the grandmother, she learned that Marquis was not at the grandmothers residence and then the grandmother made a statement that implied he has multiple girlfriends. The suspect then admitted to officers that she did place Marquis items in the fire pit and set them on fire, in anger.
