Charlotte County, Florida – On November 25, 2025, officers responded to a convenience store after employees requested assistance with removing a woman who was causing a disturbance inside the business. When officers made contact with the woman, they observed several signs of intoxication as she attempted to purchase food at the register. According to employees, the woman became increasingly agitated after her EBT card was declined and refused repeated requests to leave the store. During the encounter, she became belligerent toward both employees and officers, at one point stating that she hated all Florida police. Despite multiple attempts by officers and store staff to peacefully de-escalate the situation, the woman escalated the incident by grabbing a bottle of wine and smashing it on the floor, shattering the bottle. She was immediately detained and placed in handcuffs. When questioned about the damaged bottle, she claimed she had simply dropped it. She was arrested and transported to the Charlotte County Jail, where she was charged with disorderly intoxication and criminal mischief for property damage of $200 or less.
