Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At about 1:42 AM on August 17, 2024, Athens Police Officers Caitlin Perry and Ethan Doerr saw a 2011 Toyota drifting from its lane. The car repeatedly swerved into roadside parking spaces. Officer Perry followed as the driver stopped in the left-turn lane at E Carpenter Street and E State Street. After turning onto E State Street, the driver sped above the limit and continued weaving. Perry activated her siren and stopped the car near Kindred Market. She approached the driver, identified as Lacie, and immediately smelled alcohol. Perry also saw that Lacie was wearing a wristband. When asked whether she had been drinking, Lacie said she had three drinks at Casa Neuva earlier that night. Suspecting impairment, Perry asked her to complete field sobriety tests. During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, Perry saw that Lacie’s eyes failed to move smoothly. Nystagmus appeared before 45 degrees and continued at maximum deviation. On the Walk and Turn test, Lacie failed to touch heel to toe and raised her arms to keep her balance. She also struggled with the One Leg Stand, putting her foot down before the test ended. Lacie’s erratic driving, the smell of alcohol, her admission, and her poor test results led Perry to arrest her for OVI. Officers took her to the police station for further processing. There, Perry read Lacie the OBMV 2255 form. Lacie agreed to provide breath samples, and Officer Doerr administered the breath test. The result was 0.184 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath, more than twice the legal limit. Afterward, Lacie was released to a friend until her court date. Lacie received three citations: Operating a Vehicle Impaired under ORC 4511.19(A)(1)(a) Operating a Vehicle Impaired with BAC over 0.17 under ORC 4511.19(A)(1)(h) Left of Center under ORC 4511.29 If you enjoyed this BodyCamBust video.
