This explosive bodycam clip from December 5, 2022, captures a heated showdown during the arrest of Daniel Hilts, a 32-year-old patron from Punta Gorda, Florida, at Anthony’s Restaurant & Pub in Joliet, Illinois. Filmed in the parking lot at 1:50 AM, this YouTube Short shows Hilts arguing, “My car’s not been running at all,” while an officer accuses him of intoxication, saying, “You’re highly intoxicated and you shouldn’t be driving.” Hilts denies being drunk, calls the officer a liar, demands a ride to the Hampton Inn, and gripes about being tackled, yelling, “I get a lawsuit, bro.” Officers ask for his room key to confirm his stay. This wild clash is pure fuel for true crime fans. The drama erupted when Hilts, ejected from Anthony’s for disruptive behavior, tried to drive his car, prompting Officers Joseph Robinson and Robert Bukala to intervene. After rejecting ride-shares or a security escort to his nearby hotel, Hilts got hostile, leading to a takedown and charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, obstructing justice, criminal trespass to property, and resisting arrest. The neon-lit Anthony’s parking lot sets a gritty stage for this real-life crime saga, perfect for fans of unfiltered police bodycam action. True crime junkies will eat up Hilts’ fiery denials and ride demands, offering a raw peek into a tense cop clash. The tackle complaints and Hampton Inn drama crank up the stakes in this wild arrest.
