Bodycam footage shows Livonia Police officers responding to a reported possible drunk driver who was driving into oncoming traffic. After the driver refused to stop, officers pursued the vehicle before successfully deploying a Grappler device to bring it to a stop. Incident: On July 23, 2025, Livonia Police officers were advised that a caller was following a possible drunk driver who was driving into oncoming lanes of traffic. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop. During the pursuit, officers successfully deployed a Grappler device, bringing the fleeing vehicle to a stop. The driver was taken into custody and later transported to the hospital for an evaluation. Officers located an open bottle of alcohol near the driver's seat, and the driver agreed to a blood test as part of the OWI investigation. He was later transported to jail and charged with Fleeing and Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing Police, Operating While Intoxicated, and Open Container in a Vehicle. The driver was granted a $10,000 personal bond and was later convicted of Fleeing and Eluding and Operating While Intoxicated, receiving two years of probation.
