On October 31, 2025, deputies responded after receiving a call from a school regarding a parent who arrived to pick up a child and appeared to be intoxicated. School officials reported seeing what appeared to be an open container of alcohol inside the car and advised deputies that another young child was already inside. The parent reportedly became upset and belligerent and left the area. Deputies were provided a description of the car and located it shortly afterward. The footage begins as deputies conduct a traffic stop and check on the child’s welfare. Deputies reported signs of impairment, including slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes, and the odor of alcohol. The driver agreed to perform field sobriety exercises and later provided breath samples, which registered .103 and .106. An open bottle of alcohol was also located inside the car. The driver was arrested and transported to the county jail, where he was booked for DUI and child neglect. Court records later show he bonded out of jail. Bond was set at $2,500 for the child neglect case and $1,000 for the DUI. According to court records, the child neglect case was later dropped after the State filed an announcement of no information.
