This police bodycam footage captures a tense confrontation in Park City, Utah, after a reported road incident between a cyclist and a driver near a skate park. The cyclist, later identified as Gary Peacock, claimed a vehicle passed him too closely in violation of Utah’s three foot cyclist law and demanded the driver be arrested. As officers responded, the situation escalated. The cyclist attempted to prevent the driver from leaving, opened the vehicle’s door multiple times, and demanded identification. Police quickly clarified the limits of civilian authority and explained that traffic violations are infractions and not grounds for citizen detention. Both parties were cited at the scene. However, the case did not end there. The driver, 22-year-old Pierce Kempton, later contested his citation and submitted dash cam footage for review. After examining the video, the Assistant City Attorney’s Office determined the footage was exculpatory, supporting the driver’s claim that he did not violate the law. As a result, the driver’s moving violation was dismissed. The cyclist’s charge was separate. His disorderly conduct citation remained in place and was later resolved through payment of a fine. This case highlights how bodycam and dash cam evidence can change legal outcomes, and why escalating confrontations can quickly shift responsibility even when police are called. 👉 Subscribe for more real police bodycam footage, arrests, and criminal investigations. ℹ️ Chapters: 0:00 Intro 0:22 Cyclist vs Driver Dispute 1:24 Cyclist Calls the Cops 4:40 Police Show Up on Scene 17:03 Driver Has Evidence 19:15 Driver Gets Traffic Violation 19:49 Cyclist Gets Disorderly Conduct 25:32 Arrest Info & Mugshot 25:48 Bodycam Breakdown 26:49 Outro Disclaimer: This video contains footage of a real-life incident.
