On December 27, 2025, a 68-year-old activist and attorney Robert Held was allegedly thrown to the ground by an off-duty ICE agent Adam Saracco at a Shell gas station in Brookfield, Illinois. The confrontation began when the agent noticed the man filming him from a public sidewalk while he was pumping gas into his SUV. The victim, Robert Held, claims the agent ran toward him and pinned him to the pavement in an attempt to seize his phone. While the Department of Homeland Security has described the agent’s actions as a response to "aggressive harassment" and an attempt to "dox" an officer, witness statements and police body camera footage have provided a different look at the physical struggle that took place. What do you think of the agent's reaction? Let me know in the comments. Following a thorough investigation by local police and a review by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, the off-duty agent was officially charged with one count of misdemeanor battery. He was subsequently cited and released, with a court date set for March 2026 to address the incident. These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide. #firstamendment #ICE #bodycam
