A devastating crash turned a wedding celebration into tragedy when Jamie Lee Komoroski collided with a golf cart carrying newlyweds leaving their reception near Folly Beach, South Carolina. On April 28, 2023, Komoroski was driving approximately 65 mph, more than twice the posted speed limit on the beach road, when she struck the golf cart carrying bride Samantha Miller, groom Aric Hutchinson and two others. The force of the collision sent the golf cart approximately 100 yards from the point of impact. Samantha Miller was killed in the crash while still wearing her wedding dress. Hutchinson suffered a brain injury and broken bones, while the other two people in the golf cart were also injured. Komoroski later pleaded guilty to reckless homicide, felony DUI causing death, and two counts of felony DUI causing great bodily injury.
