On the morning of 21 April 2025 he was driving to the grocery store with his wife when police stopped the car. He spent the next four hours telling two detectives the same short sentence. He is still telling it. This film uses the interrogation recording, the arrest bodycam, the 1991 newspaper coverage and — for the first time anywhere — nearly two hours of his younger brother's interview, which no other account of this case has used a second of. Gene Stuller has been charged with second-degree murder and with disturbing a dead body. He has not been convicted of anything. He is awaiting trial, and every word you hear him say is a denial he has never taken back. A jury will decide what happened on that road. It has not happened yet. Julia Sue Wilbanks was 27 years old. She was found on 23 September 1991 beside Neptune Road, outside St. Cloud, Florida, by a landscaping crew. She lay there roughly 36 hours. Her file sat in a box for thirty-three years because somebody kept checking.
