After conducting a records check on the license plate, it was found that the vehicles plates were expired as of 2015. The officer noticed the vehicle attempt to change lanes and exit the highway in a suspected attempt to avoid being pulled over. Soon after, traffic stop was initiated. After pulling over, the passenger got out of the vehicle with their hands raised. Shortly after, the driver sped away from the officer that pulled him over. After a lengthy chase involving multiple squads, in which the driver drove on the wrong side of the road multiple times, lost multiple tires, ignored a stop sign and a red light, the vehicle eventually drove off the road into a nearby field. The driver, named Aaron, then complied with officers orders and claimed he had ran from police because "[he] didn't feel good". He was arrested and a K9 sniff was done on the vehicle. The K9 indicated to the odor of illegal substances. A search was performed on the vehicle. Officers found 437 grams of meth, 6 grams of cocaine, 6 grams of crack, and around twenty five hundred dollars in cash. Aaron was charged with possession with intent for meth and cocaine, 4 counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, vehicle operator fleeing or eluding an officer, possession of THC, operating while revoked, possessing drug paraphernalia, non-registration of a vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and improper or hard to see license plates. He was found guilty of possession with intent for meth and cocaine, and 1 count of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety.
