On January 21, 2025, Fort Lauderdale Police responded to YOLO on Las Olas Boulevard after 33-year-old Jenny Lubo became involved in a dispute over a restaurant and valet bill. According to officers, another person eventually paid the restaurant tab, leaving only the $20 valet charge, but Lubo remained highly intoxicated, argumentative, and confrontational with staff and police. Officers arranged for a family member to take her home and repeatedly warned Lubo not to drive. However, after initially leaving in her sister’s vehicle, Lubo jumped out, ran back to her own car, and attempted to drive away. Officer Whitney Ptak reported that her hand became trapped in the driver’s door handle as Lubo accelerated, causing a wrist injury. Lubo was eventually removed from the vehicle and taken into custody after continuing to resist officers. She was arrested on charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and resisting without violence.
