This police bodycam video captures a high-speed chase in the Florida Keys that ended when deputies successfully deployed spike strips to stop a fleeing driver. Deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office say multiple 911 callers reported a Lexus SUV driving dangerously — speeding over 80 mph, driving into oncoming traffic, and passing on the shoulder near mile marker 21 on U.S. 1 in Cudjoe Key. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled at high speed, prompting a pursuit down the Overseas Highway. At mile marker 32 on Big Pine Key, deputies laid down spike strips that punctured the SUV’s tires, forcing the vehicle to slow and stop. The woman was taken into custody and now faces multiple charges, including DUI, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and reckless driving. She remained held in the Key West jail with a bond set at $105,000.
