On June 25, 2023, at 3:20 AM, Highland Heights Police Officers observed a vehicle parked in a parking lot of a medical officer building. An 18-year-old female was sitting in backseat of the running vehicle. She claimed she was picking up her boyfriend from his apartment, but the officer advised her there are no apartments in the city of Highland Heights. Due to the odor of alcohol, she was asked to step out of the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety tests (FSTs). She was eventually arrested and transported to the Highland Heights police station. She submitted to an evidentiary breath test and the result was 0.252% BAC. She was charged with Operating a Vehicle Impaired (OVI). On October 10, 2023, she pled guilty to an amended charge and was sentenced to 1 year of probation. Her license was also suspended for 1 year and was fined $250.
