On Monday, August 25th, 2025, officers responded to a disturbance at the airport after a man allegedly threatened a passenger with a box cutter. What began as an unwanted interaction quickly escalated when the man reportedly brandished a blade, forcing the woman to flee and seek help from airport staff. In the end, officers detained the man in handcuffs on a bench while working to verify his identity and secure the knife found in his pocket. Officers then returned to the victim to explain the process for pressing charges, asking whether she wanted him to go to jail after confirming he had a weapon, before the body camera footage ended. Based on the conduct documented in this body camera footage, the following charges could potentially apply: • Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon Without Intent to Kill: For brandishing an extended box cutter blade while confronting the passenger. • Providing False Information to Law Enforcement: If further investigation reveals that he provided false identifying details to officers. The final charges are determined by prosecutors based on the available evidence and applicable law. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
