On November 11, 2024, Officers from the Cook County Police Department responded to a vehicle crash in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood where they encountered Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele. Witnesses reported that Steele, visibly intoxicated, tried to flee the scene but was unable due to damage to her car after striking two other vehicles. When police arrived she refused to provide her driver's license or exit her vehicle, repeatedly invoking her position by stating "I'm an Elected Official". During the encounter Officers noted a strong smell of alcohol, bloodshot eyes, and found a half empty bottle of wine on the floor of her car. Samantha Steele was ultimately placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence after she called Cook County Commissioner Scott Britton, whom she identified as her "attorney" to police. While being checked out at the hospital Steele mocked an Asian Police Officer by repeatedly asking him "Is your penis that small?" in an Asian accent. Despite public outrage and the Chicago Sun Times Editorial Board calling for her to step down, Steele has refused to apologize or resign and continues to serve on the influential Board of Review which handles Property Tax Reviews for Cook County residents. #criminaljustice #policebodycamera #resistingarrest #arrestcam #drunkanddisorderly #codebluecam #drunkinpublic #dui #politician #politicianlife #corruption #corruptpolitician #samanthasteele #chicago If you enjoyed this video please Like and Subscribe via the link provided.
