A traffic stop quickly escalated into a chaotic encounter with Venus’ children inside the vehicle. As officers attempted to take her into custody, the children could be heard crying while the situation unfolded around them. In addition to multiple outstanding felony warrants, Venus was charged with felony obstruction, cruelty to children, simple battery on a law enforcement officer, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and child-restraint violations after authorities said the children were not wearing seat belts. This bodycam footage is shared for educational, documentary, and news-reporting purposes. Charges are allegations, and Venus is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
