On July 30, 2023, Bowling Green Police Sgt. Lowery stopped a vehicle for a red-light violation. The 19-year-old driver admitted to coming from a bar where she consumed 2 drinks. Interestingly, she was not asked how she got into the bar as a 19-year-old. Because of her traffic violation and admitting to consuming alcohol, she was asked to exit her vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. After completing the tests, she was arrested for DUI. She was transported to the Bowling Green police station, where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The result was 0.174% BAC.
