On July 16, 2023, deputies responded to reports of a black Mercedes driving into the wrong lane and almost causing a head-on crash. The driver, 48-year-old Michael Alfonso, didn’t stop until he reached AdventHealth Palm Coast and parked near the ER. Deputies said Alfonso appeared extremely intoxicated and took him inside to be checked out before arresting him for felony DUI, his fourth offense, and failure to obey law enforcement. He was booked into jail on a $26,000 bond.
