On June 5th, 2024, officers were called to the police department lobby after staff reported a disorderly citizen who demanded multiple complaint forms. When told her previous reports had already been documented, she began yelling, stepping into officers’ personal space, and arguing that no one had the right to ask her to leave. Officers attempted to calm her, but she continued escalating — accusing them of lying, claiming she was being touched, and refusing every request to step back or lower her voice. She insisted she could stay in the lobby as long as she wanted while shouting over staff and other citizens. After repeated warnings about her disruptive behavior, officers informed her that she needed to leave the building. She refused again, yelling that she had every right to remain. When officers moved to detain her, she resisted on the floor, shouting that she was being arrested “for no reason” as they placed her in handcuffs. Despite multiple attempts to de-escalate and explain the consequences, she continued struggling until officers secured her safely and removed her from the lobby.
