Bodycam footage shows Good Samaritans stopping an intoxicated mother from driving away with her child outside Clearwater Ice Arena. Witnesses said she was stumbling, hit her daughter in the face with the car door while trying to get inside, and still tried to put the child in the seat. Bystanders stepped in, stopped her from leaving, and called police. Officers found her unsteady on her feet and told her she would not be allowed to drive. She refused to give them a number for the child’s father or anyone else who could take the child, and she also refused help from fire rescue. As the situation escalated, officers and paramedics worked to separate the child, get the mother evaluated, and contact the father. According to the video and script, she was placed under the Marchman Act, the child was released to her father, and officers later completed arrest affidavits for child neglect and resisting without violence. 00:00 - Officers Arrive 00:45 - Witnesses Explain What Happened 02:20 - Officers Check on Eva 05:15 - She Is Told She Cannot Drive 08:16 - Officers Demand a Pickup Contact 09:24 - Fire Rescue Tries to Evaluate Her 13:29 - Child Is Separated for Safety 16:52 - Father Is Located 17:56 - Marchman Act Explained 18:28 - Father Learns What Happened Subscribe.
