#lrhn #police #policepursuit On 8/15/2023, at approximately 8:10 pm, while patrolling Jackson Road 2 in Jackson County, a blue and white motorcycle passed me with no lights on. The driver did not have any safety glasses on as well. I turned around and initiated my lights and siren. I caught up to the suspect, driving 40 mph in a 45 mph speed zone. The driver, a white male wearing a blue jean cutoff shirt and blue jeans, failed to stop. While in pursuit, I pulled beside the suspect and looked at his face. The driver drove approximately 2 miles while crossing the double yellow line and riding on the center line for most of this distance. He left the roadway to the right and drove southbound down the power line right of way until he reached the bottom of the mountain. The suspect lost control, wrecked into the creek bed, and fled on foot. I followed his path on foot and located the motorcycle in the creek bed with no driver in sight. I then returned to my unit, called a wrecker, and continued listening and directing Jackson County units to the area.
