Palm Beach County, Florida – On December 29, 2024, police responded to a local restaurant for a couple refusing to pay their tab and a verbal disturbance. The male walked away and entered his vehicle. When police arrived, they made contact and prevented the male from leaving. He exited the vehicle and stated he was not attempting to leave, only moving the car. The male also admitted his driver’s license was suspended. Police conducted a driving under the influence investigation, and the male consented to standardized field sobriety exercises. While officers were conducting the evaluation, the female remained inside the restaurant, continuing to argue with staff and refusing to pay the tab. Officers were ultimately able to assist the female in making payment, remove her from the property, and transport her home without further incident. The male was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, having three prior DUI convictions, and knowingly operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license. This incident was captured on police body camera footage.
