Moreland Hills, Ohio -- Officers with the MHPD pulled over a vehicle after noticing it travel at a high rate of speed (57/40). Officers spoke with the operator who claimed that he did not have his ID on him. Officers got the man's name and DOB and ran a LEADS check on the name. During this time, the man got out of his car and stated that he had to urinate. His request was denied and he sat down on the curb. Dispatch advised that he was wanted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol (Traffic warrant) and Cleveland Police Department (Domestic violence warrant) Police tried to detain the man which he than began to resist and was tased several times, which the taser did not function as intended. Eventually he was taken into custody. The suspect, later identified as Mr. Winchelle Grant, was charged with the following: - Speed (55/40) - Failure to reinstate license - Resisting Arrest - Possession of Marijuana I'm very confident this agency has body cameras, yet I was provided with a 10 minute video of paramedics. I'm unsure on why they did not provide footage from the traffic stop.
