On May 06, 2025, police in Lombard, Illinois, were dispatched to the Von Maur store at Yorktown Mall to assist with an alleged shoplifter. Store loss prevention tracked the suspect inside the mall and detained her until police could arrive. Once in custody, the detained woman admitted to concealing merchandise on her person, which complicated the arrest, and, surprisingly, history has a way of repeating itself.
