High-Speed Chases With Kids Inside Two high-speed police pursuits in Arkansas started as traffic stops but quickly escalated into dangerous chases. In the first incident, Arkansas State Police pursued a Dodge Charger near Joiner after the driver allegedly traveled around 80 mph in a 55 mph zone and refused to stop. Officers eventually used a PIT maneuver, sending the fleeing vehicle off the road and overturning in a field. Only after the crash did officers discover that a young child had been inside the vehicle throughout the pursuit. Less than a month later in Camden, Arkansas, another traffic stop turned into a pursuit when a Toyota Highlander fled from police at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The vehicle eventually lost control, struck a utility pole and overturned. At the crash scene, officers made an even more alarming discovery: four children under the age of six had been inside the vehicle, including a four-month-old infant. This video examines both Arkansas police pursuits using dashcam and bodycam footage, showing how routine traffic stops rapidly developed into high-risk incidents.
