On August 9, 2022, the Evesham Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident. The 23-year-old driver of a red car had attempted to pass another vehicle on the left, while that vehicle was making a left turn. The ensuing collision caused the woman's car to end up in a ditch. She admitted to consuming alcohol several hours earlier, so she was asked to submit to standardized field sobriety testing. She was placed under arrest for Driving While Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, and Careless Driving. However, by the time she was transported to the police station and submitted an evidential breath test, her breath alcohol concentration was only 0.06%. Officers then requested the woman provide a urine sample to test for narcotics. Her father arrived from an hour away to take custody of her.
