On January 18, 2025, Santa Fe County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a report of a Reckless Driver. Deputy Riley and Corporal War located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was being driven by a 62-year-old woman who admitted to consuming wine 2 hours prior (at around 7:30 AM). After EMS checked on the woman, she was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. However, due to her level of intoxication, the tests were ended and she was placed under arrest. The police report indicates she submitted to a breath alcohol test and the result was 0.29% BAC. Online court records indicate that 7 months prior, she was arrested for DUI, but the charges were dismissed. The charges for this arrest were also dismissed without prejudice by the prosecutor.
