Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: On February 5, 2025, at about 1:30 AM, Downers Grove Police Officer Erin DeVries saw a blue 2024 Nissan Kicks traveling west on Ogden Avenue near Woodward Avenue. The vehicle was going 55 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, with a white Toyota Prius following close behind. Officer DeVries turned on her emergency lights and began a traffic stop at Ogden Avenue and Authority Drive. The Nissan stopped near Ogden Avenue and I-355. Officer DeVries spoke with the driver, 25-year-old Alexis Wroblewski. While talking with her, the officer smelled alcohol and saw an open High Noon Seltzer can inside the Nissan. Alexis said she was driving home after attending a Chicago Bulls game. She showed signs of impairment and admitted drinking earlier that night. Officer DeVries asked Alexis to recite the alphabet from "E" through "W," but Alexis could not say the letters in the correct order. She also failed to count backward from "56" to "49." Deputy Kanis of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office arrived to help, and Alexis was asked to leave the vehicle for field sobriety tests. During the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, Officer DeVries saw a lack of smooth pursuit, distinct and sustained nystagmus at maximum deviation, and nystagmus beginning before 45 degrees. She also observed vertical gaze nystagmus in both eyes. On the Walk and Turn test, Alexis failed to touch heel-to-toe on every step, made an improper turn, and did not keep her arms at her sides. During the One Leg Stand test, she raised her foot incorrectly and counted out of sequence. After the tests, Officer DeVries offered Alexis a preliminary breath test. The result showed a BAC of 0.181%. Her erratic driving, admission of drinking, the open container, poor test performance, and breath test result led Officer DeVries to arrest her for driving under the influence. Alexis was handcuffed, placed in the patrol car, and taken to the Downers Grove Police Department for processing. Officers read her the Warning to Motorist form, and she agreed to provide breath samples. The breathalyzer showed a BAC of 0.165%, about twice the legal limit of 0.08%. Alexis also agreed to answer questions and said she had consumed vodka and tequila earlier that evening. After processing, she was released at about 3:45 AM and allowed to take an Uber home.
