Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the listed vehicle after it ran a stop sign at Crosier St. and Beardsley St. The driver, Latasha Swanson, refused to stop the vehicle, leading the Akron Police on a short pursuit. Latasha eventually pulled into the parking lot at 456 E South St. The passenger, an unknown male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants, exited the front passenger side door of the vehicle and ran southbound on Clay Dr. Officers were unable to locate this suspect. Swanson exited the vehicle with her hands up. Officers successfully handcuffed Swanson. Upon running Swanson through leads, Officers found that she was driving under suspension and had a warrant out of Summit County for failure to appear on a theft charge. The listed vehicle was towed by Johnny's due to Swanson driving under suspension. Swanson was arrested and charged with failure to comply and driving under suspension. Swanson was transported to Summit County Jail by wagon 88.
