On July 7, 2024, police in Wheaton, Illinois, were on routine patrol in the downtown area when they received complaints of an individual threatening to pop people with his finger pistol. Police eventually grew tired of his yelling and causing a disturbance, so the man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. These charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. An arrest is not a finding of guilt: that’s something for a court to decide.
