On October 1, 2024, Lacey Police Officers were called to the Fred Meyer grocery store regarding a report of a possible shoplifter acting disorderly. Officers arrived to find a 38-year-old woman throwing items around the store. Officers attempted to restrain her, but she resisted arrest and had to be taken down to the ground. She refused to cooperate, so she was eventually placed in "The Wrap" restraint system and was carried outside. She was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Assault on a Police Officer, and Malicious Mischief. She was transported to the Thurston County Jail.
