Know your rights before police decide not to hear you. 📄 Story tips, resources & support 👉 https://www.thinblueliesmedia.com Submit police accountability tips, bodycam footage, public records, court documents, and local story leads. ⚖️ Former Brooklyn Police Sergeant Paul Stein has now been sentenced for repeatedly punching a handcuffed woman who was strapped into a restraint chair. The judge imposed the maximum misdemeanor-assault sentence of 180 days in jail, with 90 days suspended. Stein will serve 90 days behind bars and then spend 24 months on probation. 🎥 The complete bodycam video was played in court before sentencing. The footage shows Stein punching the restrained woman five times after she spat in his face. Stein expressed remorse and described the incident as a reaction that happened in a “split second.” But five separate punches against a handcuffed and restrained person raise an obvious question: ❓Is 90 days meaningful accountability — or would an ordinary person have faced more? This case also follows an earlier incident involving Juan Wyckoff, who accused Stein of hitting his vehicle, fleeing, driving recklessly, and physically confronting him at the Brooklyn Police Department. Brooklyn Police cleared Stein of assault in that earlier case and issued a written reprimand for traffic violations. Five months later, the restraint-chair assault happened. The criminal case now has a sentence, but the civil-rights litigation surrounding the earlier incident is still active, and the woman Stein punched reportedly plans to sue Stein and the Brooklyn Police Department. 👕 Thin Blue Lies merch: https://www.youtube.com/@thinblueliesmedia/store 👀 Thin Blue Lies, Baby! #ThinBlueLies #PoliceAccountability #PoliceMisconduct #Bodycam #PaulStein #OhioNews #CivilRights #ExcessiveForce
