On March 9, 2024, officers with the Cleveland State University (CSU) Police Department received a call about a Honda Civic parked illegally and the female driver was vomiting. When officers arrived, the two women in the vehicle gave conflicting stories that didn't make sense to the officers. The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle in order to perform standardized field sobriety tests. Because officers did not observe her driving, but she was in the driver's seat with the keys, she was arrested for having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to the CSU police station, where she submitted to an evidential breath test. The result of the test was 0.167% BAC. She was issued a citation with a mandatory court appear and was released to the custody of her passenger. All suspects are presumed to be innocent under proven guilty in a court of law.
