The caller stated that the driver of the vehicle struck a curb and was driving with a flat tire. Lakewood Police Investigator Summerville located the 28-year-old woman sitting behind the wheel of her parked automobile. Because of the nature of the call, the woman was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests. She was placed under arrest for DUI (her 2nd) and a subsequent search of her vehicle revealed a still cold half-drank Budweiser. At the police station, she refused to submit to an evidential breath test. She was cited for Operating a Vehicle Impaired, Refusal to Submit to Testing, and Having an Open Container. Her case is still open. All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
