On June 9, 2026, what began as a routine traffic check on a stolen vehicle in Los Angeles quickly escalated into a violent and life-threatening confrontation. As officers approached, the suspect fled at high speed, crashing into a fence before taking off on foot. The chase turned deadly when the fleeing suspect pulled out a handgun and opened fire on pursuing officers, striking one officer directly in the chest. Saved only by his ballistic vest, the wounded officer and his partners returned fire to neutralize the threat. In this breakdown, American Bodycam examines the high-speed pursuit, the intense foot chase, and the life-saving gear that prevented a fatal tragedy on the streets of LA. This video was made for educational purposes only.
