On May 22, 2025, Roswell Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. Cameras placed at the intersection show the driver of a Toyota Tundra pickup traffic cutting across 2 lanes of traffic in order to enter a parking lot. While doing this, the 60-year-old driver struck another vehicle. Officer Juarez made contact with the woman, who blamed the accident on the other driver. Suspecting the woman might be impaired, Officer Mata initiated a Driving While Under the Influence (DWI) investigation. The woman denied consuming alcohol and introduced herself as a doctor. A Google search of her name reveals she is a Doctor of Chiropractic and a Nurse Practitioner. She was too impaired to maintain her balance so she was immediately placed under arrest. She was transported to the hospital for a medical clearance. At the hospital, medical staff recognized her. Hours later, while being detained in a holding cell, she claimed to be detoxing and demanded to go back to the hospital. Instead, she was transported to the Chaves County Detention Center. While enroute, she faked having a seizure in the back of the police car. Her charges are discussed at the end of the video. Her case is still open and all suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
