Notice: Parts of this video were blurred by law enforcement to meet legal requirements, as some footage was recorded inside Walmart’s security room. A principal in Polk County Florida, was arrested on March 29, 2025, for attempting to steal from a Walmart using a "skip scanning" technique at a self-checkout. He admitted to the theft, stating he learned the method from friends and wanted to test it himself. Reports claim that he stole a pack of light bulbs, bacon, and frozen butterfly shrimp. "Skip scanning" is a method where the person intentionally fails to scan certain items while checking out, in order to avoid paying for them. It’s a form of theft that’s becoming more common with the rise of self-checkout kiosks, as they give some people the chance to slip items through without being detected.
