THIS VIDEO IS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY WHAT HAPPENED: An elderly couple swerved into the emergency lane and struck Deputy Sendek, causing bruises from hip to knee and torn back muscles. Their side-view mirror hit his body and service weapon, and the side molding tore his pants and leg, just inches from a possible amputation. He was off work for two weeks and on light duty for six months. The couple only received tickets for failure to maintain lane and leaving the scene of an accident. They claimed they thought police were shooting at them when they heard the noise from the impact. Do you think they should've gotten more than just a ticket?
