#CrimeCamNow On May 29, 2024, the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shoplifting incident at a Walmart in Live Oak, Florida. Store employees reported a woman carrying a young child while accompanied by a 14-year-old girl, stuffing clothes, accessories, and other items into a baby stroller. However, there was no baby in the stroller, only stolen merchandise totaling around $150. When a deputy arrived, the woman offered to pay for the items, but it was too late. The deputy informed her that she was under arrest and that the Department of Children and Families (DCF) would be notified due to the minor’s involvement. The 14-year-old was not charged, as Walmart’s policy does not prosecute juveniles. The woman was allowed to call her mother to arrange for the child's pickup. The girl was later released to her father. Meanwhile, the woman was charged with retail theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor before being transported to Suwannee County Jail.
