On May 6th, 2025, Officer Ivy of the Lakewood Police Department responded to a hospital campus parking lot after an employee allegedly keyed a coworker's black pickup truck — repeatedly — over a period of several weeks. The victim's husband had set up a makeshift surveillance system inside the truck after his dashcam failed to capture the incidents. What followed was a masterclass in field interviewing — and a critical lesson in why words, however offensive, never justify felony-level property destruction.
