On March 2nd, 2025, Wauconda Police responded to a disturbance at a laundromat after a man allegedly targeted strangers with racist and homophobic slurs. When officers arrived, they found 68-year-old Donald J. Bigham, who quickly turned aggressive. After threatening an officer, Bigham threw a punch, triggering a violent takedown inside the laundromat. During the arrest, a sergeant suffered a hand injury, and Bigham was also treated for a head wound. Even at the hospital, he continued to resist, threaten staff, and spit blood. Bigham now faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction, and disorderly conduct.
