After a murder suspect escapes the St Francis Jail and a stolen unmarked patrol vehicle was found a manhunt was launched to find a suspect. With increased police presence and surveillance a report came in of the suspect in a stolen pickup truck heading into St Francis county. Reports indicated that a child was seen entering the vehicle. Troopers T. Hess (D-17) J. G. Byrd (D-26) and G. Pettigrew (D-13) respond to locate the vehicle. Shortly after D-17 intercepts the vehicle and the suspect begins to flee. Due to the possibility of a child being in the vehicle Troopers opt to use spike strips to stop the vehicle as opposed to the usual PIT maneuver . After a 19 minute pursuit the suspect crashes after successful spikes. It was later found out that the suspect was not the escapee and just a random person who stole a truck. There was also no child in the vehicle. #arkansas #policechase #crash #pitmaneuver #dashcam #spikestrips
