On July 05, 2025, police in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, were dispatched to the public Sunset Park & Pool. Pool staff reported hundreds of teens had arrived, disregarding park rules by smoking and underage drinking. As more youths continued to arrive past capacity, management was forced to refuse entry. The crowd, estimated in the police report to consist of 400 individuals, became increasingly unruly, and eventually pushed the manager into the pool. Additionally, youths began setting off fireworks in the parking lot. Police officers worked to disperse the crowd in an orderly manner without escalating the situation. Although no arrests were made on-site, police were eventually able to identify key culprits and secure warrants of arrest from a judge.
