In 2025, officers were dispatched to Macy’s after reports of an internal employee theft investigation—but what they uncovered was far more serious than a simple mistake. A trusted manager, who had been with the company for years, was accused of running a scheme involving fraudulent returns. By taking merchandise directly from the sales floor, processing returns without proof of purchase, and pocketing the cash, he quietly stole thousands over several months. When confronted, the situation quickly escalated. Officers read him his rights as the reality set in—and on camera, he admitted everything. He explained how financial struggles led him down a path of poor decisions, but by then, it was too late. As the investigation concluded, officers made their move. The manager was placed in handcuffs and escorted out, facing serious charges including grand theft and scheme to defraud.
